Iran National Carpet Center

Objectives & Roles 

Iran National Carpet Center – INCC, is a non-profitable governmental organization established in 2003 within the framework of the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Commerce. The Center is invested with the task of coordinating and harmonizing  activities and legislative  related to all aspects of  production and marketing of genuine Iranian hand-woven carpets formerly divided among various governmental bodies in order to preserve and promote  cultural and artistic heritage as well as to provide adequate support to producers of Persian carpets country-wide  and enhancement of  economies of hand –woven carpet manufacturing in Iran.

The Center is also obliged to take a leading role in promotion and expansion of global markets for the Persian carpet through initiatives derived from its own sources or cooperation with other governmental organization as well as  private sector entities and cooperatives

.

INCC main objectives

           At Production  level:

-       Improving knowledge and awareness in regards to production of genuine Iranian hand-woven carpets and rugs, from the early stages of preparation of  high quality raw materials ,ensuring the use of genuine patterns and designs which are characteristics of each of the various producing regions of Iran.

-       Providing advisory services to the  policy-making bodies in order to enhance supports to  weavers and traders of large and small scales  alike ,at country level  and also to ensure the sustainable  growth of the industry as it  plays a very crucial role in the life of several million Iranians.

-       Recognizing obstacles  and drawbacks threatening the hand-woven carpet industry and provide tangible means to overcome such problems , either through revising  legislative  which directly or indirectly affects the industry or through providing proper training and technical solutions.

-       Seeking higher standards of social services for all people engaged in the hand-woven carpet industry by increasing  the level of welfare for workers and their families .

At Trade Level:

-       Enhancing and strengthening the position of Iranian hand-woven carpets in traditional markets while  helping Iranian producers and exporters to enter new and potential markets by means of dispatching delegates abroad, participation at technical exhibitions, organizing seminars.

-       Cooperating and coordinating with other public private organizations on Identifying trading  obstacles  and seeking appropriate solutions  for them at the national as well as international level, or in relation to a particular market.

-       Compilation of a comprehensive data base on all aspects of genuine Iranian hand-woven carpet ,covering all stages from carpet designing  to preparation of raw materials  to the final stage of production of carpets and rugs .

-       Organizing technical exhibitions as well as coordinating participation of producers and exporters  of Iranian hand-woven carpets at such events both at national and international level in order to achieve a harmonious and sustainable presence at the markets.
