A Diplomacy Touched by Politics, Art and Economy
Iranian ambassador in Germany expressed readiness for boosting Iran's carpet trade in Europe.
Talking with the head of INCC and directing board of the Union for Persian Carpet Importers in Europe, Ali Majedi referred to the improvements in the country's political conditions and interactions as well as the upcoming political and economic plans, adding: "we are ready to use these opportunities in order to introduce, advertise and trade Persian handmade carpet."
Also speaking at the meeting was Hamid Kargar, head of INCC, who highlighted the role of handmade carpet in the country's diplomatic relations, urging Iranian representative in Germany to pay more attention to the issue.
Calling Germany a significant base for Persian carpet sales and export in Europe, Kargar stated: "Considering the political and economic boom in the country, we should take every opportunity to emphasize Iranian art and Persian carpet in particular."
He further referred to his negotiations with German advertising agencies to boost Persian carpet trade, calling for the union's thorough cooperation with Iranian embassy in line with the proposed plans.
"Offering Persian carpets to German political figures, the presence of Persian carpet in the embassy's cultural and economic ceremonies, taking orders for weaving carpets for special institutions, and facilitating the advertising process in Europe with the embassy's cooperation are some of the manifestations of effective bonds among politics, economy and art," he went on to say.
Confirming the issue, Iranian ambassador in Germany announced the organization of small limited carpet exhibitions, even with a decorative approach, during the upcoming plans such as banking congress, as the first executive step in this regard.
